So it came as no surprise (seeing that the guy is suppose to determine the sex of a baby) that my little swimmers were a bit intimated when they met head on with such powerful genetics and decided to make a girl instead of getting their tails handed to them by a couple of onery looking RNA chains.
Yes, just last week, in between drinking my usual eight glasses of estrogen water per day, we found out that we are going to have a little baby girl! It wasn't so much the fact that you couldn't see any twig and berries in the ultrasound that really convinced me that it was girl, but more the fact that it took 25 minutes of wiggles, pokes, back flips, and other utural gymnastics before she would even give us a peek! I knew before they even said anything that this little stubborn baby was going to honor it's family heritage. I am so excited about being a father, and I'm sure this little one will have me wrapped around her finger from day one. She'll be daddy's little girl, and it will be very difficult not to spoil her! I'm looking forward to the day I can hold her in my arms.
So, with that, I'd like to introduce Alexandra Rose Kimbrel. She's a very happy and healthy little wiggler, and both she and her mommy are doing well. You can see a fun video of the ultrasound below, or you can click here to download a larger (16mb) wmv file, so you can view it full screen.
And of course, we can't forget photos! We've got a full update of preggy photos here! Here's Melissa's 18 week belly shot (we're at 19 weeks now). Almost half-way there and starting to look very pregnant! Oh, and we've also uploaded several photos from Erin and Steve's recent visit and our trip to Sedona, and their trip to St. Louis to meet up with the other pregnant cousin Randi. Yes, all three cousins are pregnant together and all carry that "Soldatke" gene. I'm guessing we're in for a whole new generation of little blonde girls!
Oh, and for those who are interested we currently have our baby registry at Target. We are decorating the nursery in a "Classic Pooh Bear" theme, with white wainscott and light purple walls. We'll post photos of the nursery as we work on it. That's all for now!
